You're just beginning your adventure with photography? Check out some valuable advice we have for you to start with!
First of all, don't buy the latest equipment right away! After all, you don't know if you're going to fall in love with SLR photography or if it's just a fleeting affair. It's also worth knowing that it's you, not the camera, taking the picture. The equipment is just a tool in your hands and it's up to you to use it. If you lack the will and the idea, even the best equipment won't do the job for you. What's more, with a cheaper camera you can also take brilliant pictures. It all depends on your enthusiasm and invention. Why do you need a dear and complicated model if you have no idea how to use its potential?
What's important is that you don't have to go to the other end of the world to take a good picture. All you have to do is look around the apartment, or a few steps away. Photographing people is your dream? Start with family. Are you aiming at street photography? Just get out of the house or look out the window. Good material is just around the corner.
You already have the camera. Read the instructions! We guarantee that you will find a lot of useful and accurate tips, which will make it much easier for you to use it and answer many seemingly difficult questions. If you still have some money left, think about investing it in photography workshops and appropriate courses, not in hundreds of extra lenses and gadgets you won't be able to handle. Unless you mean a tripod. If your hands are shaking, it'll be good money. The pictures will become more sharp and you will start to pay more attention to the proper framing. A metal tripod will be particularly good - it will guarantee the greatest stability of the camera. If your budget is very limited, keep learning free. After all, the Internet and the guides available in it are its powerful treasury!
Take your camera with you whenever you can. Train to take pictures in various situations, even those that may seem absurd to you. You never know when you'll get the chance to take a brilliant picture. Remember, however, that holding a camera at hand is not equivalent to carrying all your photographic equipment with you. A sensible zoom and a single focal length lens are enough here.
One good picture actually accounts for most of the bad guys. Don't try to unskillfully save them at all costs in graphics programs. Be critical of yourself, segregate your photos and polish your ability to choose the best ones yourself. This is a key issue when it comes to developing a photographic passion. You can also always make your own personal list of pictures you would like to take. It will not only spread out in front of you the vastness of the places you would like to visit, but above all the places you would like to go back to. And, most importantly, the circumstances you would like to repeat.
Be sure to experiment with the camera's parameters. Using automatic mode only is the greatest sin. Of course, the machine is not strictly forbidden, but you should know when exactly to use it. If you shoot deliberately, it will give you a lot more fun - even if your photos aren't as perfect as those taken with a camera, they will be taken primarily by you, not the camera. And let's stick with that.
The presence of a flash everywhere is not the best idea. Most of the time, just forget about it. Use it in a seemingly unconventional way - its use during the day will be good for balancing shadows on your model's face. When photographing, focus on the whole frame, not just the foreground. Look carefully at what happens throughout the length and width of your display. Remember the essence of the background - often it is the background that creates the whole atmosphere of the photo. Often a properly selected composition will do a better job than the most expensive equipment; it is not without reason that instagram shots conquer the world. Be creative, but remember to be modest. If you care about art, thank the exaggerated filters and limit the use of editing tools.
Take your pictures calmly, nervously. Every time, check for any unwanted objects in the frame. Consider compensating for exposure when the picture is too light or too dark. When photographing dynamic scenes, use the serial mode. Remember the perspective! The more unusual, the more unusual the picture. And, above all, take pictures regularly, not afraid to experiment. Photographing every object in the middle is not a perfect idea. The principle of triple division is one of the key rules governing photography - a subject appearing in the left or right half of the viewfinder can become a recipe for a stunning shot.
Get out of your comfort zone - start photographing strangers! Ask strangers if you can take their picture. In return, you can return the photo sent to the "model". Or just cut him a picture without asking for anything! In a public place you can do it without hesitation. Worse to publish, here you should read about the regulations in this area.
Prepare for criticism! When you start publishing your work, negative voices will certainly appear. The ground to not consider yourself the best in your field, especially at the beginning. Appreciate the works of others and don't give up on photography after a few unfavourable opinions directed towards your works. Training makes the master. Don't forget that. Now get to work!
